Merge PDF files without uploading them
Written by Autonome. Updated 5 November 2026.
How do I merge PDFs without uploading them to a website?
Use a PDF editor that runs in your browser. Choose your files in the order you want them, drag any page that's out of place, and download one combined PDF. The merge happens on your computer, so the files never sit on someone else's server.
Autonome PDF works this way. You can open and merge without an account, and downloading the finished file takes a free sign-in.
- Choose several PDFs at once and they join in that order.
- Drag thumbnails to fix the page order before you download.
Merge your PDFs
Choose your files and Merge PDFs opens with them. They stay on your computer.
| Step | What you do | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Open your PDFs | Pick several at once and they join in the order you chose |
| 2 | Add more with Merge PDFs | Each one goes on the end |
| 3 | Fix the order | Drag page thumbnails where they belong |
| 4 | Download | One PDF, after a free sign-in |
Building the same pack every month?
A quote with its drawings, or a month of supplier bills for the bookkeeper, tends to get put together the same way every time. In Autonome, PDF Studio opens those files straight from Company Files and saves the merged copy beside the originals, so nobody has to download and re-upload anything.
See sending supplier bills to Xero or MYOB, the other Gadgets, or everything PDF Studio does.
Questions
Do I need an account?
Not to open or edit. You sign in when you download (free, no card), and that gives you 5 downloads a week.
Can I change the order once the files are in?
Yes. Drag the page thumbnails until it's right, then download.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The merge happens in your browser and Autonome never sees the files.
